Since dogs' bodies are not designed to digest milk after they have been weaned, feeding you pup ice cream with milk or cream is not recommended. (It could lead to an upset tummy). So what's that next best thing to give your dog as a cool treat? Doggie "ice cream" ! Here's a recipe (that you can also eat) and it's vegan!
Strawberry Banana "Ice Cream"
Serving: 3-6 servings (for small - large dogs)
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1/3 cup of strawberries
A splash of coconut milk
Directions:
Cut banana and strawberries into small slices.
Blend contents in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Put in the freezer in an airtight container for at least 1 hour.
Serve: Place one small scoop of this treat into your dog's bowl.
