Ingredients:
2 cups Whole-Wheat Flour
3/8 cup Honey
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Large Egg (or substitute with 1/2 Large Banana)
¼ cup Coconut Oil
3 tablespoons Almond Milk
2 tablespoons of Maple Syrup
Instructions:
Place dry ingredients into a bowl and whisk together.
Add wet ingredients to a second bowl:
Beat egg then add oil, honey and 2 tablespoons of almond milk.
Stir wet into dry ingredients until you have a fairly stiff dough, adding additional almond milk if necessary.
Wrap dough in waxed paper and chill until firm, about 1 hour (or longer, if it’s more convenient).
When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 375°F.
Turn the dough onto a well-floured surface and knead gently until it holds together. Roll dough out till it’s about 1/2 inch thick.
Cut dough into hearts and place on parchment paper. Brush the tops with maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon before baking.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until crackers are lightly browned.
Remove crackers from oven and let them cool completely before serving.
Serving size: 1/2 heart for small dogs and 1 heart for larger dogs
