Strawberry Banana "Nice Cream" Recipe
Updated: May 6
Since dogs' bodies are not designed to digest milk after they have been weaned, feeding you pup ice cream with milk or cream is a no no. This could lead to gas, bloating, constipation diarrhea or vomiting,
So what's that next best thing to give your dog as a cool treat? Doggie "ice cream" - that can even be shared with you! (And it's vegan).
Here's the recipe:
Strawberry Banana "Nice Cream"
Serving: 3-6 servings (for small - large dogs)
1 frozen banana
1/3 cup of strawberries
(Optional: a splash of coconut milk)
Cut banana and strawberries into small slices.
Blend contents in a food processor
or blender until smooth.
Put in the freezer in an airtight container for at least 1 hour.
Serve: Place one small scoop of this treat into your dog's bowl.
*Check with your vet first before introducing a new food to your dog's diet. And if you do begin to give your dog this treat, be sure to start with small quantities. As always with any food, if you see behavioral changes or digestive issues call your vet.
